Dawn Patrol: July 1, 2009

It's Day Four of the formula transition, and things look to be settling down a little. Abby slept from 9:30 pm until about 5:45 am. Yesterday was busy, with a fussy baby and two playgroups.

The second was the inaugural meeting of a playgroup for babies more or less Abby's age. It was quite enjoyable.

It was spellbinding to watch her and the other five to seven month-olds interact. One would stare intently at another and then suddenly lunge for the head. It was kind of funny in a demolition derby sort of way. After being safely wrangled, they had great fun playing with each others hands.

Abby was a little out-of-sorts, especially in the morning. But the two walks helped calm her down.

This morning, she continues the epic game of rolling over onto her belly, getting stuck and crying for help. We also learned that four months is the "peak spitting up phase." This appears to be true of Abby.

It has been a bit strange being a stay-at-home dad in a world of stay-at-home moms, but I am starting to get used to it.
