Dawn Patrol: August 7, 2009 (The Abby Report)

I hate to do this, but by necessity, I must shuffle my daily routine.

From now on, I will use my early morning hours to attempt to do some philosophical work. I am a graduate student after all, and the fall semester is about to start.

But don't worry, I will still post a daily journal of the life and times of Abby and her Dad. Since I will be posting it in middle to late afternoon, it does not make sense to call it the "Dawn Patrol," so I am renaming it "The Abby Report."

I will start this today, so be sure to look for it.

For you morning readers, here's a little bit to tide you over.

Abby's sleeping has been much better for the last couple of nights.

The trick seems to be (1) give her as much food in the evening as she'll take and (2) to play with her actively for about 45 minutes in the late afternoon just before Mommy comes home. This wears her out, I suppose, and helps her sleep. This has worked well all week.

That being said, she does stir in her sleep from time to time, which is a new thing. She wakes up and fusses for a minute or two several times a night but then goes right back to sleep. It's taken some getting used to, but it doesn't seem to affect her in the least.

One other note, Abby's aunt and uncle are coming to visit today. They will be here all weekend, and we are all very excited to see them (and they us). We still haven't figured out how pronounce that word, "aunt." Does it rhyme with "taunt," or does it sound like "ant"?
